IO WKND HOST HOMES

Thanks for taking interest in being a host home for IO WKND. By hosting a small group in your home, you will play a vital role in our mission to help students discover and pursue their faith. This in-town event would not be possible without hundreds of generous and welcoming people like you who open their homes to these students and leaders.

IO WKND will be taking place February 7-9, 2025

Here are some things to consider before signing up:

  • You will need to prepare food for two meals and have snacks available during the weekend (we will reimburse your expenses).

  • You may be asked to help with transportation during the weekend.

  • If you are hosting your student’s small group, your student should not stay in their own bedroom. They should stay in the same room with their small group and feel like they are away for the weekend.

Frequently asked questions

Where should students and leaders sleep?

You’d be amazed at how many students can and will want to pile into one room! Basements or playrooms work great. Leaders should sleep in the same room with the students to keep an eye on them, so don’t worry if you don’t have a guest bedroom for the adult leaders. They don’t need it!

How do I prepare my home for the weekend?

We suggest putting away any irreplaceable items, potentially dangerous items, movies with ratings of PG-13 and above, and any alcohol or tobacco.

Do I participate in small group time while students are in my home?

No. This is time for small groups to bond and cultivate community. We ask that you and your family not participate during this time and that you allow the group to meet without you present.

How many students can ride in my car?

One person per seatbelt. All students must be properly buckled at all times.
